Summary
Tears are staining his pale bony cheeks. Eyes puffy and red, water flooding them. His nose is snotty and he can't stop that ugly feeling inside his chest and he can't breathe.
Akutagawa tries, he oh so desperately tries. With practice things will always go right. But never for Akutagawa. Never for him.
The tears start to soak a lot more into the dirty, disgusting bed, making a puddle of wet and absorbed tears. It feels weird and uncomfortable to be lying face on soggy things, especially if it's ridden with your bitter salty tears.
Akutagawa ignores the bitter thoughts clouding up in his head, they're suffocating and drowning him and he doesn't need any more negativity than he already has. It's depressing. To be so acquainted with sorrow itself. He tries to steady his vision, but nonetheless his vision swims and it feels as if his eyesight got sick of him too.
Or,
Akutagawa really just being a depressed mentally ill and unstable highschooler whom should not be left alone by himself.

Summary
A re-telling of season 1, except Brian has a long history and struggle (though he won't admit it) with anorexia nervosa, in a desperate attempt to keep some control on his life ever since he was taken away from his brother and shoved into the foster and mental health systems.
Begins with the ending of Original Sin in 1991, moving into a short scene (why did we never get this?) where Brian sees Dexter kill in 2000, and then starts with Season 1 Episode 1 in October 2006.
5/7/26 going on indefinite hiatus really sorry, not leaving this behind forever and it'll be completed god knows when but I've been less interested in it for a while. I will likely leave it as is (5 completed chapters) until I finish the whole story, then upload at once. <3 thanks to everyone who's read it so far

Atsushi always had dreams of someone confessing their feelings to him. He wanted someone to love him, he never had that. He also never thought that the one person that had genuine love for him would be bedbound, and dying because of their love for him.
The one person who loved him… was someone he couldn't bring himself to love back.
