In the idyllic rabbit town of Bunnyburrow, priestess-to-be Judith Hopps is discontent. She follows in the footsteps of her mother, and her mother before her, and so on; tending the family land and shrine, keeping the ancestors happy and the land providing. A respectable life, but one painfully tedious and mundane, and Judy cannot help but yearn for excitement and mystery. To that end, she travels to the much-feared forest near her home, seeking the adventure she's been so long denied.
She finds one, of course, but not exactly the kind she'd intended.

While recovering at the Hopps family farm with former convict Nick Wilde, Officer Judy Hopps confronts the fact that all of her preconceived notions about predators in general and shock collars in particular have been shattered one after another by the warm charisma and shocking heroics of a certain fox, finding herself wanting to explore something new. Unfortunately, the tame collar--as usual--finds a way to complicate everything.
