    There was a burst of dark energy felt for miles before Xiao was suddenly between Aether and Yelan, the sharp point of his spear mere inches from Yelan’s throat.

    “You may be a mortal of exceptional skill, but I will not forgive you for any ill intentions towards the traveler,” Xiao hissed dangerously to a calm and unaffected Yelan.
