While working in the tavern, Max has seen time and again men who lose themselves to the bottle. Who can’t stop coming to the tavern, even as they promise themselves it’s the last time. They always had the same look about them, the look of men who can’t stop themselves from getting another round, even though they know they’ll come to regret it in the morning. A certain resignation of wanting the thing that can and will ruin you. Now, looking down at Eleanor’s naked form sprawling on the table underneath her and feeling that longing she thought was long past her, she thinks she understands how they must feel.

It’s only because he can hear her heels come up behind him that Julien doesn’t startle when he feels slender fingers in his hair, combing through his dark curls. “He’s so unfairly pretty, isn’t he?” she asks.
For a moment, Julien thinks she’s speaking to him, about Thjazi, and his entire thought process comes to a screeching halt as he attempts to figure out what the fuck to say to that. Until the orc gives his wife a sort of mock-toast, and he realizes Aranessa was talking about him.This is a complete crackpairing but I just had to. I mean c'mon, they're all hot, I love some good hate sex and some unrequited feelings, the idea just HAD to be done.
