(aka in which ordinary office worker shinonome akito fights for his life fending off the affections of the supposed big evil of the world he got transmigrated into. supposed, because for a killer with a heart of ice, aoyagi seems harmless--almost cute, in a way. or maybe akito just has shitty survival instincts).

Ace was going to be honest with himself: he had a crush on Deuce.
It wasn’t as if he hadn’t had crushes before so he knew what one felt like, but he just didn’t expect to develop one so quickly, especially on the guy who dropped an entire cauldron on him the first time they met. He stopped mid-way to taking a bite out of his toast. Now that he thought of it, was that seriously how they met? He shook his head in resignation and shoved the rest of his toast into his mouth, betrayed by his own fickle heart.
(No plot here, just idiots being idiots and the classic "Shut up!"/"Make me" trope in one neat little fic.)

He’s saying something about angles, but Akito can only think about the way his silver eyes are lit up and the way his voice rises and falls as he speaks and the way his impossibly soft-looking lips curl into a frown as he realizes Akito isn’t listening to him at all. Toya sets the pencil down and tilts his head. “Did you hear anything I said?”
“I—no, not really.”
“What were you thinking about, then?”
You. “Um, practicing,” he lies, trying to ignore how stupid he feels saying it. “You know.”
