“You are right,” Aylin incinerates the cloth with holy fire and it crumbles away into ash as she speaks, “we’d have best avoided this if, earlier, I’d dismissed the enclave and emptied the temple,” her armor takes on a effervescent glow and then it is gone, she is as naked as Isobel, “and taken you upon that very altar.”
Isobel breaks their kiss to mutter, “you should have,” her hand finds the spot between Aylin’s wings and she rubs the tender area. “I’d have let you. Encouraged you, even.”

I catch my breath on air twinged with the familiar scent of brimstone, my panting lips brushing a smile. What a morning. The sins of her caress might just have sent me to the hells, was I not already here. But a morning is all it is.
When my lungs stop burning and my heart beats adante rather than vivace, I pull my slender form from the bed and begin to dress. From over my shoulder a cunning and cool voice taunts, "Not staying for a cuddle?"
"Yeah," I retort, sinching my belt, "because that's how this works."

She remembered very well the near instantaneous response when Aylin had bowed her head in prayer and asked as much. Bright, warm, ethereal. As though Selûne had been elated at the thought. Now, though, with all that had changed, everything Aylin had suffered, and considering the vile magic that an oathbreaker had used to selfishly bring Isobel back to life, would the Lady of Silver still feel similarly? Doubtful. Isobel put on a smile that she knew was a little too tense, a little too false, and hurried to finish her tale.
"We'd uh... we'd considered the idea, back then. Never had a chance to see it through."

Like all Selûnites, Isobel revered the night sky and the Lady of Silver's luminous guidance through the dark. Yet in this moment, she could not help but praise the sun, both for scorching the land strongly enough that beads of sweat rolled off of Aylin's brow and bare arms most enticingly, and for granting Isobel a very good excuse as to why exactly her face was so red and her breath so short. Not only that, but she was currently finding it quite difficult, perhaps even blasphemous, to direct her prayers towards the very mother of the one causing her to lose her composure.
