She feels more than hears Annabelle laughing softly at that.
"Gonna take me with you, right? Gonna put me on the back of your horse, ride off into the sunset with me?"
As soon as she speaks it, Josie knows that she wants nothing more.

She's right, of course. The only reason it took so long for them to move was John's own attachment to his hometown. Even if it is loud and crowded and way too expensive.
He's silent for a moment, at a loss for words.
Recently it seems he's forgotten how to talk to the woman he loves.

Now the sight of it, with its embossed spine reading "Memories" in a swirly, delicate font and the frayed stitching along its edges, makes his hands tremble.

Grian is still for a moment before she groans and turns to lie on her back. Joel stares at her with heaving breaths, face distorted in a furious grimace, and Grian stares back, pain and shock written across her features, but not surprise. Never surprise.
“One of those days then?” she bites out through gritted teeth.
Joel doesn’t grace her with an answer as he strides across the cramped space and over to her in two steps and digs the toe of his boot into one of the gaping wounds left behind by his bullets.
Grian screams. Joel’s rage roars and purrs with satisfaction.
“Is that-” Grian groans, “Is that really necessary?”
“No,” Joel says, and digs his shoe deeper.

Some nights they had sex, some nights they just talked, some nights both, but no matter what, during the times they were together, Charlie wasn't drinking anymore. He had something better than cheap wine or stolen liquor now. He had company. It was just a bonus that Mariana also gave mind-numbingly good head.

And, well. Gillion is aware of Chip's... opinion on the situation at hand. He knows that Chip is only doing what he thinks is right. But he does wonder how he can look at Felipe, who, despite having known him for no longer than a day or two, feels like a lifelong companion, who has been nothing but kind to all of them (until Gillion went and fucked that up), whose only wish is to be able to stay and adventure with his newfound friends- he wonders how Chip can look at Felipe and suggest that they get rid of him. Gillion wants to say he knows that Chip is not that heartless, not anymore at least, and yet... maybe in this case he has to admit to his own hubris. Again.
But Gillion isn't Chip. And Chip holds no power over him. This entire mess is his fault, so he will give everything he has to fix it. And how he chooses to do so is his to decide.
