Summary
It’s not like Buck needs anyone to tell him what his issues are. They might as well be written on his forehead in bright red marker. He’s not ignoring it or anything; Buck just doesn’t see the point in re-litigating them every time he feels like this, every time he feels like a dog that got sent back to the pound. It’s not like he doesn’t have his friends and family, and Tommy is sleeping right next to him, but there’s a hole in Buck’s chest he’s had since he was born and he still doesn’t know how to fill it.
When the 118 is closed for reconstruction after an earthquake, Buck is a floater for different stations around the city. He tries not to let it get to him. Much.

Summary
The first time Buck had met Pepa, she’d described Eddie as a saint, and she’d been right. Buck may be fuzzy on his Art History eras, but he can conjure up plenty of images of shirtless saints, and Eddie, abs adorned with sparkles and glowy mood lighting framing his face, looks more saintly than ever before.
Eddie motions Buck over. “Come meet my friends!” He turns to the woman petting his hair. “This is my friend, Buck!”
The woman eyes Buck suspiciously, but without judgment. “You the baby daddy?” she asks, not unkindly.
Before Buck has a chance to say no, or yes, or what?— Eddie’s face crumples, and he turns to the drag queen forlornly, muttering, “I don’t have a baby anymore,” before face-planting into her breastplate with a sob.
The queen squeezes his shoulder and shushes him gently. “I know, sweetie, it’s okay. You can be our baby.”
“My baby’s all grown up.”
“It’s gonna be alright.”

Summary
“Down, you need to go down,” Crowley growls, one hand on the D button. “Do you know what down is? It’s – it’s fucking down!”
The elevator stills, shakes one last time like a dog after leaving water and its doors practically throw themselves open. An even brighter landscape greets Crowley. Heaven.
“Are you shitting me?” Crowley grumbles and proceeds to return his attention to the treacherous D button.
“Hold the elevator!” a familiar voice exclaims from the outside. “I won’t be a moment, please!”
Crowley freezes. This can’t be happening.
Or, Crowley uses the elevator to go to Hell. The faulty thing sends him Upstairs instead, just as Aziraphale needs to use its services.

Summary
In Muriel’s absence, a 6,000 year old silence fell. An unspoken truce of not looking too hard, not speaking, not disturbing their make-believe peace. It had only been broken once since the dawn of creation, and Aziraphale managed to last a full 23 seconds before breaking for the second time. Crowley would know—he counted each agonizing moment as it passed.
“Well,” Aziraphale started, straightening his impeccably neat sleeves, “ I reckon we should do as they said and use this as an opportunity to talk.”
