Summary

dutch van der linde and hosea matthews had always been inseparable, from the moment they first met. it was unclear what exactly they were, but it was clear that they held a bond with eachother that nobody dared to interfere with.
and nobody ever did.
however, as the years passed it was clear that the outlaw lifestyle and poor health was beginning to catch up with mr. matthews. his lungs were fragile porcelain, and his brain was withering away like autumn leaves.
faith alone kept them together, for dutch van der linde was always a man of his word.
and hosea didn't believe in anything but him.

Summary
Arthur Morgan is fourteen years old when his father is killed in front of him in their small cabin in Maryland. With no one to turn to, he ventures into the wilderness by himself with only a few belongings, the clothes on his back, and very limited knowledge of how to survive. Then, when all seems lost, he's taken in by a pair of charitable bandits with silver tongues, sharp wits, and big dreams of taking down civilized society to bring America back to a purer state. Along the way, they find more wayward souls, building up a strong group that's the closest thing to family most of them will ever have.
A fairly canon-compliant interpretation of The Van der Linde Gang, mostly from Arthur's point of view, 1878-1899.
WARNING. There's some ugly topics in this fic every now and then. Mostly violence, a few mentions of some darker stuff, but probably never anything too overly graphic; though, there'll be trigger warnings before the start of the chapter. Even still, viewer discretion is advised.
