“No." Joel answered. "Tomorrow, you’ll go back home to Marlene.”
If they weren’t friends, Ellie didn’t understand what Joel was to her. “... are you my daddy?” Ellie asked, and Joel’s gaze shot to her, his features hardening as if the question had burned him.
“No.” He snapped.
TLDR// The one where Marlene asks Tess and Joel to watch over a very young Ellie, just for a day... but then she doesn't come back to pick Ellie up, and Joel is stuck with a little girl that he has to take care of... and she just looks so much like Sarah.
