Summary
Nikki doesn’t believe in God or the Devil, not necessarily. He believes that people can be angels or demons but doesn’t actually think those entities exist but he is extremely interested in the stories surrounding them all. Still, he does feel a peculiar energy wash over him as he flips an old book on witchcraft open and starts copying down symbols to use on their stage.
What follows will certainly change his life for good. Or evil, depending on your perspective.

After ten years of being controlled, the options that are in his grasp make him a bit heady. Or it would, if the consequences of his decisions weren't so dangerously severe.
He could continue to do this job for his master, he could betray the boys who were once so absolutely the best things in his life, topple their entire power hold over Umbra. He was powerful enough, skilled enough to do it.
Or... he could take this opportunity to grasp his freedom, he could use all of his skills, intelligence, and will to finally regain control over his own body and future. He might fail, and possibly lose what was left of his life in the process.

Tommy looked up at the mirror and into his comically blown pupils. They were much too wide, especially under the harsh bathroom lights.
Fuck cocaine and the damn hubris it triggered! The look with which Nikki had pierced him when he had taken those glasses off had been ice cold and angry, downright lethal. Just as he had feared it would be, when he had fantasised about confronting Nikki, before. Of course, Nikki had instantly managed to get the better of him, despite his downright cornered position in the backseat, and knocked him down a peg… or two.
The pinkish stripes on his cheek caught his eyes, and he was painfully reminded on how they had gotten there and what they consisted of. How Nikki had marked him. They accused him, like a scarlet letter.
Tommy scooped a handful of water from the tap and washed them off.
He had fucked up really bad, this time...
