Summary
Lucifer is tired and depressed University professor, long beyond his past glory as he struggles to find reasons to live since his divorce shattered his heart eight years ago – only carrying on for the sake of his daughter Charlie and daughter in law Vaggi.
Really, no one else manages to get past his general apathy and disinterest in life, except maybe his infuriatingly perfect colleague Alastor Hartfelt, who somehow always manages to annoy him beyond reason. The always impeccable Alastor, the brilliant Alastor, the magnificently handsome Alastor...
Yet beyond the surface, Alastor is struggling – working beyond reason to fill a debt from a deal made in his youth, he feels even more trapped day by day. Not to mention the mysterious accident that left him to walk with a cane, making his situation even more so precarious...
He manages to keep face, though, hiding his excruciating pain behind an everlasting smile... at least until he faints in front of Lucifer. Finally seeing beyond Alastor's armor, Lucifer makes it his mission to show his dear colleague a bit of sweetness... he doesn't know what he is stepping into.
