“Damian,” Bruce says, very slowly, “do you know someone named Jason Todd?”
Damian frowns at him. “No?”
“Real tall guy,” the Joker suddenly pipes up from the holding cell, “white streak in his hair. Kinda looks like Bruce Wayne, if you ask me!”
Damian blinks. “Oh. Well, I do know a Jason that fits that description, but his last name is not Todd.”
“What the hell is it then?”
Damian frowns harder. “Al Ghul.”
And just like that, Bruce’s worldview goes to complete and utter shit.

Or: Jason decides that if someone has to be a monster in this world’s shadows, it might as well be him. This decision might’ve been influenced by the fact that Talia al Ghul decided to spring her son on him and also gaslight everyone into believing that Jason is her eldest child. Also, he kills his pseudo-grandfather and kind of accidentally becomes the new R’as al Ghul, because by now, he’s way too deep in Talia’s con-shit to back out.
…It all goes over surprisingly well.

Summary
After Red hoods confrontation with Batman things in the alley go from the bets they've been in years to hell on earth. With the Bat brutally hunting down anyone associated with Red Hoods gang, the crime family and rouges smelling blood and entering a frenzy and the Bats total and complete disregard for they're lives the alley makes a decision.
They pack up and leave.
It takes a lot to faze anyone from Gotham and even more to faze those of the alley. But the Bat had done it, he'd showed the alley he hated them, removed they're only protection and hunted down people just trying to make a living. Dismantled everything the red hood had built to better they're home and spat it at them like it was something fowl.
So they left for different cities, Star, Metropolis, Central, bludhaven, Coast. Anywhere was safer than under the bats iron clawed rule.
Among those fleeing a small group of what remained of Red hoods gang fled cross the country to a silent city on the California coast. As far as they could get from Gotham without leaving the country carrying with them they're lives and they're gravely injured boss who one of them had pulled from the rubble of a warehouse.

Summary
Jason Todd knew that rising back from the dead is not something that can be explained by science or natural law. That's a concept he merely knew from a fictional standpoint and was brushed off as mumbo-jumbo, hocus-pocus type of crap. But weird stuff did tend to happen to people in the vigilante business. So when he came back, he mostly shrugged it off as a side effect of being a kid crime-fighter.
Evidently, not.
(What if, Jason becomes a supernatural hunter vigilante, crime lord. The crime lording is very important to him, because he's none of those other two. He's a budding criminal with a lot of crime in mind. Or so, he insists.)
