Glinda lets the necklace dangle from one clawed finger, then tosses it gently into Spider-Woman’s waiting palm. She’ll let her have this one. Besides, she’s already stuffed other pieces in her satchel anyway.

She thought of the wet warmth of her mouth on Elphaba’s skin, Elphaba’s sticky face popping up from between her legs, taking Elphaba’s fingers into her mouth, replacing one kind of wetness with another. She thought of her tears at Elphaba’s bare back. Elphaba ducked her head, the brim of her hat covering everything above the tip of her nose. Glinda’s chest felt like it was sinking in.
“Come inside before somebody sees you,” she said. “Quickly.”
