Summary
Regulus was not doing okay. In fact, he's having the worst time of his life actually. He is intelligent, cunning, the epitome of the Slytherin he knew he was, he was the heir of the Ancient and Noble house of Black. This reality shatters when he awakes to a different world - a life without magic. He's the only one who knows of magic and holds it like a weapon. With 'his' family's attention on him, he finds an unlikely ally in James Potter who is now a muggle. Of course he did, just his luck.
James Potter dreamed of the stars and the unknown and an unhealthy fixation on all things magical. He never indulged his interest in the fantastical to his friends, so imagine his surprise when his best friend's younger brother done real, actual magic in front of him. He takes it upon himself to help Regulus come back to his own realm while trying to do magic himself, but what happens when he realises he doesn't want Regulus to go back at all?

Now, with his chances all run out, Remus is sent to Hawkings Independent School as a last-ditch effort to clean up his act. There he meets the very people who will set up the rest of his life, and is forced to confront the pieces of himself he'd long thought had been lost.

Summary
Regulus was always quite fond of death. So when he was forced into defying the Dark Lord and his parents, he was excited that it would lead to where he meets his end. Even if that meant finally doing what he had feared for so long.
After being neglected of an option to do anything else besides searching for Voldemort’s secret—and finding it—he wound up in a cave that he just knew would be his resting place.
Except it wasn’t.
After achieving the goal, he was forced into death’s grip but then instantly hauled out before he could be relieved.
Waking up in the body of his 11 year old self with a brother that cares for him once more is the exact opposite of what Regulus needed.
He needed death, not another chance.
Or…
Regulus comes to terms with his life and only hopes for a way out. He didn’t however hope for that way to be through time rewinding until he was back to his first day of Hogwarts, completely erasing the past 7 years. Nor did he ever hope to meet James Potter again.

Hero wants to help everyone, but struggles to find the balance between passive and active. Basil runs from everything, vices taking control, no longer able to trust anyone, even himself.
