Luckily, they were in a dim corner of the room by the bar — but as Viktor glanced around the room to see if anyone had noticed, he saw Mel Medarda turn towards the two of them with an amused and mildly surprised gleam in her eyes. And now she was politely extricating herself from a conversation with an investor to come over, golden jewelry jangling softly with each step. Oh God, she was walking over here.
"Good evening, gentlemen." Her eyes shone with mirth. Jayce, still heaving deep breaths and now sporting a serious blush on his cheeks, made a strangled sort of coughing noise. There was a “hey” lost in there somewhere.
Viktor panicked. Before Mel could continue speaking and likely verbally eviscerate him, he shot forward, wobbling unsteadily on his cane as he brought his mouth to hers, freshly slick from just seconds ago sticking his tongue down Jayce’s throat.

or, Viktor makes out with two beautiful people he’s kind of (very much) in love with or whatever at a party, even though he's pretty sure they're dating each other and not him (spoiler alert: they are, in fact, trying to date him too)
