Sakura didn't know which would hurt more: welcoming him into her bed or shutting him out of her life. She told herself she didn't need him, but the window was open every night anyway.
It was forbidden. He told himself she deserved better than a broken past and a hidden relationship. She deserved healthy, good, and whole. Better than anything he could give her. He slipped through the window every night anyway.
But now they're on a mission together. Now they have to travel—slowly—all the way to Port City in Tea, escorting the daimyo's daughter to her arranged wedding. Maybe it's a good thing, though. Maybe, just maybe, it'll change things up for the better and they can stop the denial they're stuck in.
