Summary
Desperate to confess his feelings but terrified of rejection, Aerion seeks advice from his polar-opposite sisters: Rhae's cynical pragmatism and Myriah's quiet encouragement. But when a panicked phone call and a ruined leather bracelet leave Aerion shattered in his car, he stumbles upon a bizarre market stall selling a "One Wish Willow" for $4.99.
In a moment of absolute despair, Aerion makes a wish: for Duncan to love him, to need him, to love him until he can't breathe without him.
The wish is granted. But magic is twisted, and desperate desires demand a horrific price. When Duncan’s affection violently shifts into an unnatural, suffocating obsession, Aerion finds himself trapped in a waking nightmare. The man he loves is now a devoted monster—a puppet animated by dark magic, capable of terrifying feats of possession and regeneration. As Duncan systematically erases Aerion's independent existence, Aerion must face the chilling reality that his own selfish longing has forged his gilded cage.
Be careful what you wish for. Some cages are made of devotion, and not all princes get a happy ending.
