I hate you,” Remus whispered, his voice so low it almost wasn’t there.
Sirius stared at him, trying to blink the tears away, but he couldn’t. He was breaking right there in front of Remus, the person he’d loved for so long, the person he’d just hurt.
“I hate you,” he repeated. He was talking to Sirius, but his eyes were trained on the floor. “I want you to go away. I want you to leave. I want to never have to see you again.”

Back when Walburga would get really mad at him, mad enough to ditch her wand and reach for the nearest object to throw at him or even worse, she would take it our on Regulus in front of him, afterwards Sirius would go quiet, he would not speak a word, too afraid that his voice will land him with bleeding bruises or an unconscious brother again.
He had lost the habit once he went to the Potters, he was never in a situation where his words would get him hurt or others again, but they did, his words broke Remus’ heart.
So ever since Remus told him he was dead to him, Sirius hasn’t spoken a single word.

“Can you stop talking for one fucking minute Sirius?” Remus was no longer focused on the mess that he created. Instead he was focused on Sirius’s desperation. So he turned back to Sirius, the shattered mug still waiting to be repaired. His wand arm was still out though, and that was when Sirius moved.
In one swift movement Sirius grabbed Remus's right arm as he lowered himself down onto his knees. His right knee slamming down onto a shard of the mug. He pointed Remus's wand right at his head and grasped his lover’s wrists with both hands, steadying it. He looks Remus in his eyes, begging.
“Do it, Remus. Fucking do it.”

Sirius and Remus find themselves alone in the dorm after The Prank. Sirius just wants to make things right, in his own self-destructive way.
