The Avatar Cycle is an ancient, scared matter. Rin may have been born in the same year as whoever the new Avatar is, but that's the only thing remarkable about him: he's the boring kind of steady, knows his place, knows he's lucky to one day become a guard to the petty king up the hill.
That is, until he is jumpscared into making the fireplace erupt.
(Because I've been wanting more classic Avatar stuff for ages and wondered what different past Avatars are like for even longer. Besides, it's time for an Earth Avatar.)
