After the Klingon-Federation war, there was no place for Jim. As an omega, there was little growth to be had without a match. Most omegas accepted their fate, but most omegas did not have such sensitivities to pheromones that they were as choosy as Jim. They were perhaps also not as motivated as Jim to be a humanitarian, no matter what it took. Even if it meant becoming a fugitive.
That was, until he finally met his match, a Starfleet Officer who was determined to change Jim's skewed perspective on life in space.
