“I've seen your jazz hands before, Nayeon. I'll be fine,” Mina puts it flatly. But then the two are startled by a loud clap and a laugh.
“Good! There it is. That's what I want.”
The stars focus back on Chaeyoung, now both in silence as the director gets up again. “I want fire. Conflict. You two have more tension than any actors I’ve ever worked with. You hate each other? Great. Use it. Velma and Roxie hate each other.”
She steps between them like she’s conducting lightning.
“But they also need each other. And that? That’s your story.”
Nayeon starts to pace again, shaking her head. “This is going to be career suicide.”
“No, this is the best press you’ll ever get. Broadway will eat this up with a spoon.”
Nayeon. Mina. Velma Kelly. Roxie Hart. And All That Jazz.

Summary
Her knees shake with anticipation and at least three cigarettes are taken care of. Jihyo tells herself each time that it's not a problem that she can't pick up her girlfriend at the airport, watch her come through the gate and be there with a little plaque that says “Global Superstar Minatozaki Sana” on it just to get a laugh.
See her squeezing past the swarm of people trying to get to her, their blinding camera flashes, but Sana runs as if the airport is empty and jumps in Jihyo's arms, a hug so tight it leaves them breathless.
It's nice to dream.
Instead, she waits.

Summary
But Sana is the best at something in particular; convincing her members (mostly Jihyo) to do something — anything — that she wants them to do. Even if it's definitely not the best idea.
Even if Jihyo and Jeongyeon had repeatedly told her no, for her own safety and wellbeing. But those battles don't often take too long and they (Jihyo) often lose. Because saying no to Sana feels like kicking a stray puppy on the street and Jihyo in all her developed fortitude cannot handle those absurdly large eyes that can make you believe she's begging when she's actually demanding.

Jihyo takes Sana snowboarding. It doesn't go well. Sana moves in with Jihyo for two weeks. It gets better. Cue the 'husband experience'.

Nayeon doesn't answer. Because she doesn't know. And she's aching to know, to do something, anything.
That power to do so doesn't lie with her.
Up close now, at a table nearer the stage, Nayeon’s fragile wish to see her looking brighter collapses instantly.
Tonight there's no introductions. It's as if Jeongyeon doesn't need, or doesn't care, for people to know who she is. She makes herself known with each melody that seeps from her trembling lips.

If Jihyo had Sana’s status, she’d work damn hard to keep it. She wouldn’t let it pull wool over her eyes. She can’t afford to lose, especially not now, especially not when Ferrari’s managed to put together a car that’s competitive enough to hold it’s own. Her new race engineer is competent enough. Their pit crew is quicker than they’ve ever been. Ferrari isn’t all bad – Sana is just one problem, one little thorn in her side.
They drive the same car. Clearly, someone on the team thought Jihyo could match Sana’s driving style. Even if Sana, in all her holy Tifosi benevolence, disagreed. Intense, that had been how Sana described Jihyo’s first test ride in the sim back in the Maranello factory. She’s too hungry for this. It’s not going to end well.
Jihyo signs a one year contract with Scuderia Ferrari for the 2025 Formula One season after spending four years in a back-marker team. Her teammate is her former childhood idol, Minatozaki Sana. The chip in Jihyo's shoulder does not make this easy for anyone.

And then, of course, the universe delivers the final blow.
It gifts her an image she’ll never forget. One early, chilly evening, when Sana’s working on her sketch portfolio, pencil scratching faintly across paper. After a period of comfortably routine silence, she hears movement—a drawer opening, fabric rustling, a zipper tugged.
She turns her head, glances over. Just a harmless flick of the eyes. She knows by now that she really shouldn’t. She knows. But some terrible, ungovernable part of her risks it anyway.
On the other side of the dormroom, Jihyo stands in front of their full-length mirror with her back to Sana, mid-motion and halfway into a pair of sinfully tight jeans, the need for any curtain of modesty be damned.
Sana forgets how to breathe. And she should look away. Really, she means to.
