“Just came to ask if you had any money.”
“I don’t have any mone-”
“Yes you do.”
“Right, okay, yes I do.” Sirius said sharply and James landed a hand on his trembling shoulder, “But I’m not funding your fucking habit Regulus. Again.”
“It’s not a habit! I could get clean whenever I wanted to.”
“Great.” Sirius couldn’t help the sarcasm as he waved his coffee bearing arm dramatically, “Get clean then, go on? Today.”
James squeezed the shoulder he’d taken and leaned over to take the mug from his best friends’ wild gesturing hand, planting it to safety on the first coaster he laid eyes on.
“I said if I wanted to.” he was chewing his lip again and Sirius cringed upon catching sight of his rotting teeth, “I don’t want to, do I?” he was very pale.
“…Why wouldn’t you want to, Reg?”
