Summary
Sam breathes deeply before descending into the basement of the King Solomon. It’s become ritualistic to have to compose himself before seeing John. He can’t even remember when it started - if it was when he noticed the freckle that sat just below the collar of his pourpoint or the way he taps his fingers on the desk when he’s frustrated, maybe when he tilts his face to the sun with shut eyes as if to soak it all in while he could - but it was happening to him with no way to stop it.

Summary
His lips hovered by Hans’s ear, wrestling with the impossible desire to speak the one truth that trembled in him—to know if he was right. To know this was real. He clenched a fistful of shirt as if reaching for the very heart of him, and pressed his body flush to Hans’s hips. He whispered:
“I think of you… in ways I shouldn’t.”
Hans shuddered in his arms—growing harder still. His mouth fell open, and he didn’t even try to object. Oh God. It was true. He loved hearing that. His words.

Summary
But Henry doesn’t see the corporal at breakfast. Instead he sees him much sooner than that, when the cold kiss of a knife under his chin drags him from a bad dream into a worse one.
“Don’t scream,” Crow says. “We need to talk.”
Henry chases a spy in Sigismund's camp while desperately trying to maintain his own cover. The time he has left to solve a murder and escape with the Finger of God is running short. He's being watched, and he doesn't know who to trust. Betrayal looms.
It all circles back to the same question:
Who is Stephen Crow, and who does he work for?
Set during the canon KCD 2 storyline; spoilers for the Lion's Den quest.

Summary
The clink of armour announces the arrival of the guards, and the hands that grab Henry are now gauntleted, which should shock some sense into him—but doesn't. He's insensate to reality; he needs to fight. Capon snatches Henry's shirt before the distance between them can grow, a strong grip, oddly desperate, one that clings and commands and claims him, and in the marrow of his bones Henry responds with a red-mist howl because yes, he gets it, yes: I'm not done yet. I'm not fucking done yet.
