Ignis has never liked all the posturing that comes with being an alpha. The swagger, the aggressivity. The arrogance. Traits that Ravus, on the other hand, has never seemed to try to hide.
Except, as it turns out, Ravus isn’t an alpha at all.
Or: Ignis has to claim Ravus for perfectly logical reasons. It turns out about as well as you’d think.
Author note: I just wanted some good old a/b/o Fleurentia porn and I accidentally fifteen thousand words all over myself.
Set in an alternative version of the alternative end of episode Ignis, where Noctis somehow didn’t go into the crystal and the Lucis forces have regrouped and are engaged in a full-out war against the Empire. Ignis isn’t blind and Ravus has rallied to Noctis’ side.

“You were so fucking close today, weren’t you? Don’t think I didn’t see it.” And the innuendo is not lost in any sort of irony, whispered into his ears as it is now. Astarion twists his wrist and lazily pumps himself with each syllable. Being as close as they are, water deflects off of him and onto Gale, aided by the angles and planes of his chest. “Just shy of grasping that personal best record, hmm—a stroke or two behind the finish line? How exhausting for you.”
But the embedded indignation softens then, held within a breath. He stops his ministrations—just holds him, squeezes. Says something innocent, as if Gale won’t hear him:
“My little star pupil.”

Astarion watches in awe as the wizard stands before him and raises the arm holding his staff, letting it drop from his hand. Before it escapes completely from his reach, those clever fingers snatch at the base of the weapon from mid-air.
With a competence Astarion has only seen in the man when in front of the cook pot or moving his fingers in well-practiced patterns, his broad shoulder rears back, raising the enchanted staff behind his head, and letting it swing it in one violent, sweeping arc.
Holy shit.
Or, Astarion's never really seen Gale attempt a melee attack before, and has thoughts about it.
