Summary
In 1944 England, John MacTavish is working as a voice actor and writer for a small radio drama broadcast out of York. When he receives a fan letter one day from a mysterious man with an unnamed ailment, John can't help himself but to respond in the way he knows best: through a microphone for hundreds of listeners to hear.
Luckily, the man recognises John's reply, and the two begin an unusual correspondence across media that has John quickly developing an infatuation, and maybe something even deeper, for a man he's never met.
