Rain pounded the city, coming down in dense sheets. Apollo’s shine had been utterly usurped by Jupiter’s tempest. Any foolish enough to be out in this would be drenched to the bone.
Herself was no exception.
Cloak heavy, wholly waterlogged, cold in spite of the day’s overall warmth, she strode on, climbed up regardless. She heard it, carried on the wind through the rain’s din. Battle. Bloodshed.
It was common now. Before The Golden Son had appeared, harbinger of this new age of demigods, first blessed of divine lineage, such death would never be seen so far from their empire’s conquests. But now it was ever present.

Hunting demons was a tricky business.
From their extreme magical abilities, possessed by even the weakest among them, that dwarfed all that humans could ever manage to their nebulous natures that made pinning them down in any real way for exorcisms or banishments next to impossible. Let alone actually killing them.
