"I won't sing at your funeral," Blaine mutters, not bothering to meet the boy's eyes, afraid that if he looked too deeply into the mess of purple and blue surrounding them, that he would fall in. The hospital smells stale. Not like any he's been in before. It doesn't smell like medicine, or antiseptic spray, or even the metallic lick of blood. It smells like mold and tears. "I won't."
"I'm not going to die," Kurt chews on those words, savoring the bitter taste on his tongue. He almost laughs.
"At this rate," The Warbler mumbles, "You will. And I stand by what I said. I will not sing at your funeral."
Or: Karofsky does more than just kiss Kurt in the locker room, and now Kurt has to deal with the aftermath while also juggling school, Glee and friends. It doesn't help that Karofsky's rain of terror isn't exclusive to the locker room.

Charlie tugged on Nick’s sleeve. “Are you sure you should be playing?” he asked in a low voice. “You sound awful.”
Nick rubbed his eyes. “I—”
“He’s fine,” said Harry, ploughing between them with all the courtesy of a sledgehammer. He slapped Nick’s back cheerfully. Nick stumbled under the impact, pressing a fist to his mouth to keep from coughing again. Seemingly oblivious, Harry added, “It’s just man flu innit. You can still throw a ball, can’t you Nick?”
“Yeah,” Nick said, grimacing. “I’m still good to play.”
After their last match is cut short by the weather, the Truham rugby team are up against St John’s for a second time. They’re determined to be at the top of their game. Except, struck down with a heavy, miserable cold, Nick’s feeling far from it.
When he insists on playing anyway, Charlie assumes it’s the idiot rugby lad in him. But what if there’s another reason?
