    Summary

“End of the line, little miss outlaw,” Donnie purred, fully expecting the girl to shrink away and perhaps cower a little.

    Except…she didn’t.

Instead she got a look on her face like she’d just swigged some sour milk.

“Aw man, not you again!” April groaned, slumping back against the wall as if his presence was an inconvenience rather than an active threat. “I thought I left you hanging back at Scorpion Rock.”

Donnie’s inked eyebrows pulled together in a sour look of his own. “You did. But I, through sheer cunning and superior intellect, escaped.”

April quirked a brow of her own. “Your brothers cut you down, huh?”

Donnie scowled as his pride took a hit. “Irrelevant. What matters is that you are soundly cornered and left with nowhere to run.”

His smug expression returned, eyes half-lidded as he hooked a thumb in his belt and leaned down to drawl, “Now we can do this the easy way, or the hard way. What'll it be, little missy?”
