See, to Shou, there are two kinds of adults in the world: the kind who mercilessly beat the shit out of people, and the kind who look the other way during the beatings.
Sometimes, when it was all said and done, they might slip him some ice and a few painkillers, or a plastic water bottle to help rinse the blood out of his mouth, like Serizawa had on a few of the really bad nights, but that was as good as adults ever got.
Shou goes over for the classic "meet the parents" dinner at the Kageyama house, and it turns out that while you can take the kid out of the extremist paramilitary organization, you can't quite as easily take the trauma out of the kid.

Summary

But that’s the thing: even though Shou knows exactly who he is, Ritsu never stops surprising him.
