Rhaenys recalled the sight of an eye scooped out into a wooden bowl, angry stitches arching up over the face of a silent little boy, and then she understood.
“So, this is a punishment then,” she started. “For the actions of your son and your wife.” A sniff. “I do not see why I have to be involved. I have done nothing.”
“It is not a punishment!” Viserys cried out, exasperated. “To have Aemond foster at Driftmark is an honor!”
In the aftermath of Laena’s funeral, Aemond is sent to foster on Driftmark. No one is happy about it, especially Rhaenys.

As they flew, Rhaenys watched her granddaughter. Her curls had been blown free from their pins, streaming in the wind, and she had raised a hand to idly trace the underside of a cloud. A sudden desperation seized her. If Corlys died, Baela would be one of the last two things binding her to this life.
Rhaenys shook her head, discarding the feeling, and settled in her saddle. There were three things that she had absolute faith in: Meleys, her husband, and that it would be Baela who would inherit the Driftwood Throne, even if it killed Rhaenys to put her there.
Rhaenys pushes for Baela's claim during the Driftmark succession crisis and finds herself sharing common ground with Alicent Hightower and her strange, half-Targaryen children. You can have different bonds to different people marked by an array of colorful strings, invisible to all eyes except yours and wrapped around your fingers: yellow for platonic soulmates, green for found siblings, blue for parental figures and so on. Even so, the rarest of all soulmates are the romantic ones marked by a red string usually around your ring finger. The people with the red strings are said to be the luckiest and most loving people in the world.

All Might’s smile had always seemed the best and brightest. It had always brought Izuku comfort, but compared to Hawks, it seemed cold and fake. All Might said Izuku couldn’t be a hero, but... Hawks said All Might was wrong. Maybe Izuku couldn’t be a hero like All Might… but, he realized suddenly, he didn’t want to be like All Might anymore.
