You've made that abundantly clear for centuries." He rinsed a plate aggressively, water spraying. “Look, I would unload it myself, but l'm washing these by hand first. It's only fair."
Alfred stepped closer, leaning his hip against the counter beside the sink. Up close, he could see the faint flush climbing Arthur's neck.
Good. Discomfort was the goal.
Then why did it feel like Alfred was the one bleeding out here?
"I demand payment, dude. This is the payment I want. Come on, they're just words. It's not like I'm asking for the Crown Jewels or anything unreasonable. I'll do everything. Just say it."
