Summary
Gavin takes it too far and, after a wet dreams regarding a certain Lieutenant, actually regrets it.
“For fuck's sake, Agent Reed, now you're just pissin’ me off. Take it up with Fowler if you so object to this arrangement and save everyone your howling. Nothin’ any of us can do,” Hank calls from his desk, his thumbs tracing circles on his temples.
And that about zaps Gavin's last drops of work-appropriate manners for the day, his sweat-sticky skin pulsating with his temper and the heat. “Oh, shut it, old man. Maybe you should go back home and finally drink yourself to death. Pull that trigger. Nobody would miss your sorry ass.”
And the title of Lieutenant would go to someone who actually earned it, instead of being handed out to Fowler's best buddy from school who hasn't achieved shit since the Red Ice bust a decade ago.

A second chance, he asks, begs, really. Just give me the chance to save them.
The being behind him pauses and Arthur can't look away from the moment he's frozen in, staring at the dark mountainside, aching to see the sun rise just one more time.

Summary
Under the threat of eunuchism, Kieran had led Mr Morgan, Mr Marston, and Mr Williamson out to Six Point Cabin—an alleged hideout of Colm O'Driscoll. Saving the life of the man that plagued his every nightmare since that miserable night he'd gotten captured wasn't on Kieran's itinerary for the day—yet, it was not in his nature to stand idle and watch a man meet his demise. Having thus managed to bargain for his spot among their ranks—done at a desperate whim, at that—all that is left to do now is hope his life won't be quite so grim from this point on... and that Mr Morgan might look at him with something other than cold indifference at best—or ardent hate at worst.

"The buck lowered its head to continue grazing amongst the other deer nearby. Those antlers were grander than any he had seen before. He lowered his bow. With the glow of the early morning sun bathing everything in gold and the aura of strength and peace rolling off of the animal, Arthur found that he couldn’t make the kill."

Summary
“You’re thinking,” Javier said, lifting Charles out of his thoughts. “Thinking of a song?”
“Sort of,” Charles answered with a soft sigh. “I used to know one that my mother taught me, too, when I was a kid. I don’t really remember it anymore.”
“Qué lástima,” Javier muttered.
“Yeah,” said Charles. Though he didn’t understand what Javier said, he could figure it out through his inflection. “I wish I remembered more of her language. Our language. I can’t remember any of it now. I just… I miss her.”
Javier nodded pensively. He was quiet for a while, and Charles had thought that signaled the end of the conversation. Charles was just about to get up and head to his tent when Javier broke the silence.
“Tell me about her,” Javier said softly.

“Very prepared man, aren’t you?” Arthur asked, looking into Charles’ brown eyes. Looking at him felt the same as that very night. Calm, quiet, gentle, warm.
A warm breeze passed over the pair of men as they looked at one another. Charles nodded, walking to Taima and securing his bedroll to the saddle.
“Would you…” Charles started softly, weakly. “Would you like to go hunting with me?”
Arthur thought for a moment. “I wouldn’t mind.”
It was what he needed, really. Some real time away from camp. Charles wasn’t bad company. -
