There's a lot he's had to process, after the Triwizard Tournament, from Professor Moody not actually being Mad-Eye Moody, to the return of Voldemort, to the Death of Cedric, but one of the hardest things, he's found, is the kindness and love and care that his godfathers give abundantly.

“You don’t have hope?” She asks suddenly, voicing the question that had been ringing through her mind since she realized his meaning. “You don’t think we’ll win?”
He stares at her, brow furrowed. “Yeah… no, I mean I think we will, eventually.” His voice is tense, airy.
“But you don’t think you’re going to…” she can’t say it, not yet, “... have a career?”
He watches her closely. He’s looking for something. Those wide green eyes are watching as she comes to the realization that the prick of tears are forming in the corners of her own.
“Did you… really think that I would?”

Summary
They say a cockroach can live up to a week without its head. Harry wonders how long he could live without his head. Feels he’s already lost it. Feels his days are certainly numbered.
NOTE: This is not abandoned, but I realized I cannot write and post consistently.. So, I am working on it (reworking some parts and figuring out where to go next) and then I will re-upload it when I can post it all at once!
