Summary
The Long Walk program was sold as an alternative for boys whose families could not care for them, a way out of poverty and neglect. In practice, it was a pseudo-military operation that polished them into symbols, placing them on the front lines of cameras instead of battlefields. Boys were stripped of childhood, molded into smiling figures for propaganda films and advertising campaigns, their youth harvested to sell unpopular wars and the illusion of patriotism.
The public nicknamed one boy "Fancy". Years later he wonders if he ever stopped performing.

Lesley Clark was never afraid of the dark.On one of these fatally stressful outings, at a restaurant with one too many people, speaking just a tad too loud to be comfortable to Lesley, though any other customer at the place would put it at a low to moderate noise level, she broke. A scream erupted from her throat as one hand clawed around it, the other slamming towards her ear repeatedly. The lights above her and her family fizzled out as if a powerline had dropped during a hurricane. And as she cried, strength sapped and bones feeling brittle, the lights of the restaurant cut off, a swift flicking of a switch repeatedly proved futile, leaving kitchen staff and waitress confused and balking at customer complaints. And there sat Lesley, calming herself down as her parents watched.
With the addition of a core X-men Scott and Jean's age what changes might occur? New romances? New enemies? Anything is possible.
