The booth is overflowing; Stebbins stretched out long on one side, with Baker practically sitting on his ankle. Across from them, is Olson, and squeezed in beside him are McVries and Parker. They’re huddled around the table, bickering loud enough to carry across the room, even over the noise of the game and the music and every other tired-rowdy group of undergrads in here. From this angle, Ray can just see the edge of McVries’ face, the curve of his scar, tugged taut by his mouth as he leans in to jeer at the others.
Dragging a hand through his damp hair, Ray feels the corners of his mouth lift up in a grin, breaking through the ache in his muscles and the exhaustion of late-October university.

It rains in King’s Ditch the day Barbara Jean Barkovitch dies.
The rain does not come gently. Storm clouds bloom like thick smoke from the east before rushing forward and swallowing the sky over the town whole just to crack it back open in a thunderous storm—a downpour of biblical proportion, Baker might say. Gary doesn’t know what that means. He don’t go to church no more—ain’t gone in a long time, really, not since he was a boy. And even when he did go, Gary never sat and listened to the sermons. He never read the bible or learned the hymns. He was always restless in the pews, itching for the second he’d be able to burst through the churchhouse doors and be set free again. Gary doesn’t know heads or tails of no biblical shit, no, but he knows a real bad storm when he sees one. He’d have to be fucking blind not to. Water cascades down from awnings and rooftops to flood the streets and gutters, running off the road and soaking soil thawed from the spring. A deluge runs down from the mountain to the valley like a cleansing river, washing clean the streets of King’s Ditch.
Gary Barkovitch wishes it would cleanse him, too.

2. Billy Stebbins is a brick wall. Do not talk to him unless you want to be shot down.
3. Hank Olson worships the ground Clementine Willis walks on for reasons Collie is still trying to uncover.
4. Do not begin a conversation with Richard Harkness unless you want to get lectured for forty-five minutes about every species of mushroom that grows in the woods behind the school.
5. If you're angry (you meaning Collie), you go to Gary Barkovitch. If you need to not be (you meaning all of them), you go to Art Baker.(prom, 1985)

Summary
The last thing Ray felt was the bullet entering his head. It was an odd feeling, not the same as when he got shot in the stomach. Getting shot in the stomach was weird, the feeling of metal in a place where it wasn’t supposed to be, his intestines feeling sensations not dissimilar to his fingers, sensations they were never supposed to feel. The feeling of touching metal so familiar, yet so in the wrong place. It reminded Ray of the time he stepped on a nail, pain of the flesh intertwined with the undeniable wrongness of this is not supposed to be here. No, getting shot in the head did not feel like getting shot in the guts.
Where Ray dies at the end of The Long Walk and wakes up in a hospital in the modern era.

Summary
The Musketeers were facing a hefty fallout between the members of the band; last album took a rough toll on them, and it seemed like that were bound to break at any moment. And with the tension regarding Ray and Stebbins being exes, it was no surprise that the guitarist left, alongside the keyboardist he was getting closer with. So, with the pressure faced on making a new hit for the label, they quickly scout for a new member to fill in their previous members' shoes.
Lo and behold, Peter Mcvries comes through and turns the band's (and Ray's especially) world upside down. For better or worse. (Idk i'm not good w/ summaries just trust my vision)

Along with Collie and Richie, the only other two known survivors of their group, they scour the pages each morning for familiar names, hoping to find someone they lost during their brutal journey to safety.
