And Blue didn’t know what it was; if it was the stress that had just built up from everything that had happened combined with Red’s degradation, or if it was the hidden challenge in Red’s words paired with his indifference, that finally pushed him to the end of his limit and broke it.
Within a blink, a growl was echoing from behind Blue’s gritted teeth, and his hands were suddenly on Red’s shoulders as he slammed his chest against Red’s and boldly pushed the broader monster down, pinning him into the frayed and worn cushions beneath them.
Red looked ready to strike, red mist billowing out of his right socket, before Blue leaned in to hiss right against the side of his skull. “Do you want me to prove it?”

He obviously had daddy issues (who didn’t though?) and lacked an understanding of boundaries (a bit too familiar of a trait that reminded him of someone he tried his best not to think about too often when not perusing those frustratingly crazed scribblings of a ‘journal’).
But he was a good kid.
As good as a kid could come, he guessed.
Which is why Stan finds himself torn as he stares down at the little tyke who, rather than working on trying to fix the AC unit like he’d asked him to, is instead hiding his chubby face in the tops of his knees, sniffling on the brink of tears.
