“I mean, there’s no harm in trying.”
But there was. If Mike wasn’t certain, it could ruin this. What they had. At the same time, Will was technically giving Mike permission to try. Not now, he was already a nervous wreck and he didn’t want to ruin their evening.
But he knew what he needed to do. Will didn’t know, maybe instead of trying and failing to talk about it, he could just try it. Show him.
“Maybe.” Is all he chooses to say, even though all he wanted to do was spill the popcorn and his guts by crossing the couch and kissing him right then and there.
Silence settles, and they finish their movie. But the entire time, sitting next to the boy he longed to kiss, he couldn’t help but look at him instead of the screen.

“Is it cause you used to have a crush on me?” Mike asked, abruptly.
“What!” It was Will’s turn to blush harder, giving him a glare reserved for Mike Wheeler and Mike Wheeler only. “No. God. That was ages ago. I’ve been past that for a long time.”
Mike motioned like he’d made his point. “See? So? It wouldn’t be weird.”
So, Mike likes guys. Fine, Will can live with that. Except now Mike's worried about having fallen behind and would really like some help practicing how to kiss a guy from his also-into-guys best friend. And Will is trying really, really hard to be a good mentor to him, so what is he going to do, say no?

“If I wouldn't like it. Don’t people say try it before you say you don’t like it?” Mike looks at him again; his eyebrows raised with a small grin on his face.
“Um… Yeah, I guess. Where is this coming from?” Will asks, turning his body to fully face Mike.
He shrugs.
“Just been thinking about it.”
“About kissing guys?” Will fires the question quickly, wanting to get to the bottom of this.
“No.”
Will tilts his head.
“Okay, then what were you thinking about?” Will laughs dryly, Mike pulling his lips into his mouth.
“Well… about trying it, but not like… guys.” Mikes face starts to flush.
“Okay, then what? A specific guy?” Will laughs, letting one leg stretch over the couch cushions, his other still held to his chest.
“You could say that.” Mike whispers, his eyes darting over Will’s face.

Mike becomes extremely affectionate with Will out of nowhere aka domestic Mike and Will.
