Glancing down at her side, she saw a small girl smiling at her through a pair of rounded glasses.
“Morning,” the girl greeted in a fresh, cheerful voice that made Rhea groan inwardly.
Morning people... ugh.
“What do you want?” she snapped before she could stop herself.
The girl blinked, perfect eyebrows arcing upward. She was pretty.
“Just to be nice, actually,” she said matter-of-factly, not remotely intimidated by Rhea's much taller, bigger figure. “Here,” she put the umbrella in one of Rhea's hands and a small pink paper bag in the other. It smelled like cinnamon. “You look like you could use some sweetness. Try not to murder everyone you meet on your way to hell. Have a nice day.”
And just like that the pretty stranger turned her back to Rhea and disappeared into the coffee shop, leaving Rhea alone under the rain in the middle of the empty sidewalk holding a flashy sunflower umbrella like she didn't really know what to do with it.

The memory searching aspect of Manacled is what inspired me, and although I have adapted that, (and also made Draco head Death Eater, because... ya know... we all love it when he's Voldemort's right hand man 😅😉), Secrets and Masks will be a very very different fic all together.
