Mack rolled his eyes as the bulldog walked away. Still, he couldn’t help but think, why (and how) was Winton kind of correct this time around?

Summary
After coming home from school, Rusty is confronted by his parents, who pressure him into confessing his feelings for his best friend, Jack. What begins as an interrogation quickly turns into emotional punishment, religious guilt, and threats meant to force him into fear . Crushed by fear and desperation, Rusty is pushed to deny who he is.
In an attempt to “fix” him, Rusty’s parents arrange for him to spend time with Indy, a girl who genuinely cares about him. Overwhelmed and numb, Rusty agrees to date her despite knowing his heart isn’t in it. His parents celebrate the outcome, believing they’ve corrected his behavior.
But when left alone in his room, Rusty breaks down trapped between the person he’s expected to be and the truth he’s not allowed to live. -
