Summary
"Mom," Denki said seriously, "I promise, I didn't do anything! I don’t know how it got there. It’s… Stuff like this has kinda been happening a lot lately."
"Yeah, I know," She said with a resigned nod, "It's from your soulmate. And I'm afraid that your soulmate has been having a rather rough time lately." She traced the black eye on her son's face with her thumb, ran a hand through his blonde locks, and sent him a small, sad smile.

Hitoshi yearned in some deep part of his chest to be loved. His stomach ached to be cared for. Hitoshi wanted to be a hero, he wanted to save people. Maybe that was naive, maybe it was too optimistic for someone like him, but he believed it. It was an innate truth that stuck to his core like gum on a hot sidewalk. He would be a hero and save the society that tried to bury him alive.

They're just kids with shared skin trying to navigate the world around them, and each other. This is the story of how Shinsou Hitoshi and Kaminari Denki find happiness in one another after traversing a long, hard road to get there.
