The Iron Lung / Project Hail Mary crossover AU where Grace ends up inside the Iron Lung. Will these two wounded men manage to survive the hostile, dying environment of the starless universe? Summary
Gracie was perfectly fine and happy with his life in Erid. He really was.
Simon just wanted to live. What would he be willing to do to get it? Simon meets a strange, unusually clean man who tells him he's safe with him. It has to be some kind of trick, a twisted game he doesn't yet understand. But he's willing to play to get what he wants.
Grace could communicate better; it would save them a lot of trouble.

Holland could have been shot in the heart with his gun and it would have had the same effect as those words.
“And this is Ryland and Colt.” Courtland continued, nodding his head to the two beside him. Neither moved at the acknowledgment of their names. No tiny waves or whispered greetings. They were unnervingly silent and still.

When two people back out of the San Francisco season of Love Is Blind, there's only so much time to find interesting replacements. So they settle on just finding replacements. They can make them seem interesting in editing, right?
Ryland is there as a favor to Colt, who submitted Ryland as a favor to his crush Jody, who wanted to find a replacement for her friend Ava, who has somehow ended up as a producer for the latest season of Love is Blind.
Simon made the mistake of befriending Ava years ago and is regretting it.

Or so he thought, until his entire world is shaken by the biggest marine discovery in the past century; Merfolk are real. Or, to be precise, at least one of them is. Grace is looking right at him.
In all his life, Grace has never seen something, no, someone so breathtaking. He doubts he ever will again. Suddenly, he finds himself indescribably protective of this creature, this man, captive in front of him. The world is not ready to witness someone like him—nor could it ever deserve to.

a fic I have been thinking about where Simon is a merman and Grace and Rocky are scientist working on studying algae off the coast of California. Simon also has a companion Kelp an OC I made up for this. He is a certified "just a little guy". Have fun with grumpy dad Simon and step dad Grace.
