The smart, minimalist, corporate hallways of Cognito really don’t have all that much in common with the halls of his parents’ mansion, all tall ceilings and polished marble in warm undertones, but with every day, he still finds himself shrinking as he walks them, until he feels eight again, drifting through spaces perpetually liminal, with no niche to settle into and truly call his.
You wouldn't blow the minds of anyone at Cognito if you said Reagan Ridley has issues. Newsflash, the woman who uses deadly robots to enforce workplace discipline is probably dealing with some shit. So it's a surprise to no one whe she doesn't take Rand's return to power too well.
She is, however, not the only one.

Summary
After coming into contact with the Artifact, Lore, a young boy who only wants to find his lost dog (and best friend) Baron, is plagued with nightmares and dark thoughts. Upon waking in a strange new world Lore continues his journey to find Baron and learn the secrets of the Artifact and its power, meeting new faces and learning to appreciate the little things in life.
This story is set after the events of the game Heartbound's demo. If you have not played the game I recommend doing so before reading. The demo is free on both Steam and GameJolt.
