He knew as soon as he saw the walls light up blue, felt the scorching heat behind him. He lunged forward, landed hard on the bones beneath him as blue fire erupted over his head, close enough he swore he smelled his hair get singed. The air was punched from his lungs, leaving him choking on breath as he scrambled onto his back, eyes wide and reeling as the flames caught, bones blazing and sizzling all around him. And finally, he saw it.

Hawks is a knight in Endeavor's kingdom, well known for his successful exploits. One day, the king calls on him with the task of slaying a dragon terrorizing a northern village. Not one to turn down a challenge, and with added heat from the Council, Hawks accepts the quest with the intention of gaining higher status and leaving the court to pursue his freedom.
But things don't quite turn out how he expects. Instead of a monster, he finds himself faced with the long-lost Prince Touya. Injured from the battle, Hawks is stuck in the dragon's den, struggling to understand the strange situation he's found himself in. Loyalty is questioned, decisions are made, and Hawks' heart is torn.
He was sent to kill a dragon. Could he love one, instead?

"I've infiltrated the target's workplace," a feminine voice answered. "I don't think anyone suspects anything, but I need to observe the situation some more before I make any kind of move."
"Alright, and you, Grip?" the patron asked.
"I accepted your offer a little preemptively just 'cause I was excited to see it, but I'm actually in the middle of another job right now, huh," replied a low, smooth voice. "I should be wrapping it up soon, and I'll be in Japan a week from now, huh."
"Seriously?" The patron growled, low in his throat, and no one could mistake his displeased tone. "Fine, fine. What about the rest of you. Muskeg, tell me something good!"
"I've familiarized myself with my target's schedule and am making my first attempt in three days."
"Excellent! Finally, someone proactive. Who's next?"
