“Come now, we’ve covered this,” the ghost of Koro-sensei’s voice seemed to reach across the centuries to say. “The poor beast isn’t as terrifying as all that. Start by observing how he swings that blade. Next, look over each movement with the same attention to detail and piece together what you find.”

“Don’t you see?” Koro-sensei asked.
And he did. Stain was skilled and he had many blades, both literal and metaphorical. It would be near impossible for a hero of Nagisa’s skill level to beat him, steel to steel.
But Nagisa didn’t need to beat him. Because he didn’t need to be a hero, not to do this.
“Voila,” Koro-sensei said. “A trivial adversary indeed.
“Now, use that trusty blade to fillet him.”

This anime/ manga has been such a comfort series for me as someone who also really struggled in middle school and just school in general. Young me always made up so many stories of herself interacting with the characters and me as an adult want to create a work that a younger me would be happy to read.

Nagisa Shiota loved soccer as a young boy and played as much as he could. However, as he grew older, his mother tried to impose her dreams on him. The boy could no longer play soccer freely. And once junior high rolled around, he could barely play. Luckily for him, his teachers and classmates were there by his side. Karasuma-sensei would sometimes have the class play soccer in PE.
