This is a longer sequel to Such Familiar Distance, with Kal's POV in the past picking up about six months after the end of his POV in SFD, and Marcus' POV in the present picking up at about six months after the end of his POV in SFD.
Basically, are they married or not and who are they with or without each other. Tags to be added with new chapters.

Summary

When he reached Kadri, Agostino dropped down and kneeled in the dirt at his feet, head bowed. His captor stiffened and some of the soldiers in his regiment made noises of disapproval. They would most likely openly hate him from now on, already having expressed suspicion of his knowledge of foreign languages and culture. To hell with them anyway.The man reached down, tilting Agostino’s head up until their eyes met. Kadri’s were the dark golden color of honey. “You’re a child.”
“I’m twenty-six.”
“Hmm. Then you are just soft. You kneel at my feet like a war slave.”
“Oh. Yes. Am I not?”
