Summary
“Dad! I need you to fuck my boyfriend!” Sokka stopped as he burst into the igloo, eyes widening in alarm as several sets of cutlery dropped to the floor. Katara’s eyes were wide as the saucer she’d dropped, while his dad just stared at him with a slack jaw.
“Sokka, what the fuck?!”

Summary
"You think I hate you? You think I'd ever kill you?" Sokka holds Zuko's face in both hands, blood dripping from his lips. "I'd fall on my sword for you. I'd find you anywhere. What do you think that means?"
Rescued, but imprisoned, Zuko finds himself no further from death on a water tribe ship. Sokka, the chief, would see him bleeding out on the boards of the deck as justice. He's a fire bender, the evil of the war that his father rages through their world. Zuko hasn't been a part of that war. Not for years. Now he's thrust back into it against his will, finding himself fighting on a side he never expected to be a part of. Maybe he'll find a cause worth fighting for; someone worth fighting for.

It wouldn't be the first time the fire nation dumped their trash on the shores of the southern water tribe.
It would be the first time the southern water tribe took anything from that trash, though.

Summary
One stroke of bad luck is enough to drag Zuko careening into a different path fate laid out.
Or
Zhao catches Zuko on his ship after he sneaks aboard. This sets the wheel of destiny rolling in a direction neither could have ever anticipated. With the formation of a tentative alliance, it seems almost impossible for anything more to bud. Key word: almost.
