Summary
“You can’t keep doing that.”
Jobe stares at Carney.
“Doing what?”
“Pushing me away every time I get close, then come looking for me when the distance starts bothering you.”
Jobe opens his mouth, but Carney keeps going.
“You need to decide what you want from me.”
That was precisely the part Jobe didn't know how to do.
Or: Jobe Bellingham spends his whole life learning how to control his own instincts. Then Carney Chukwuemeka arrives at Dortmund and becomes the first alpha whose scent doesn’t bother him. Jobe does what any reasonable person would do: tries to figure out why.
The problem is that figuring it out means getting closer. And getting closer means finding out that maybe Carney's scent is the least complicated part of the story.
When understanding Carney stops being a curiosity and starts demanding answers Jobe doesn't have, there's one last indignity left: admitting that Erling Haaland might actually have something useful to say.

Summary
"We see each other," Michael shrugged, tapping his fingers against the armrest. "Until I fall in love with you, or you fall out of love with me."
Jobe stared at him, wondering which one of them was more insane. Michael for proposing this or Jobe for considering it?
Or half-boyfriends psychologically torturing each other, with lots of fruit.

Summary
Jobe Bellingham, 20, has little interest in sports and tries his darnest to stay out of everyone's attention. That is why the universe is clearly pulling his legs by making him the unofficial Bayern Munich winning mascot for this season's Bundesliga.
