Summary
It would be the first time Spencer handled the entire bedtime routine alone. Baths, pajamas, teeth brushed, stories, lights out — all of it. He counted the seconds Jack brushed his teeth with the seriousness of a timed experiment. Jack, for his part, found this endlessly entertaining. By the time Jack was tucked into bed, the lights dimmed and the house settled into that nighttime stillness, Spencer felt a little dazed — like he’d just completed a task far outside his usual skill set and somehow survived.
And now, sitting with the kid’s book opened in his lap, it wasn’t just an ordinary thing for Reid, but a very important task he was determined to accomplish.Bookmarked by Trahnfisch

Summary
Hotch was still above him, braced on his forearms, breath warm against Reid’s mouth. The room felt smaller than it had an hour ago. Smaller, warmer, charged in a way that made the air heavy in Reid’s lungs. Their chests rose and fell out of sync at first, then gradually found a reluctant rhythm. Hotch’s lips hovered just barely out of reach, close enough that Reid could feel the ghost of heat but not the contact. It was almost worse than if he’d simply kissed him.
Reid’s hands were still wrapped around Hotch’s arms, fingers curled instinctively, not tight enough to bruise but not loose either. He was aware of everything. The faint tremor in his own thighs. The sheen of sweat cooling on his skin. The way Hotch’s hair had fallen slightly out of place, one dark strand bending stubbornly toward his forehead.
He had not expected this. Not like this. Not with the lights still on.

Summary
He deserved to be thanked. He deserved to be thanked for spending twenty years of his life in this hellhole day after day. He deserved to be thanked for keeping people safe from the monsters inside it’s walls. Maybe he should show them just what those monsters were capable of. Two FBI agents were coming to the prison for an interview. An interview in A-Block. His block. It was perfect. He was done being ignored. Tomorrow they would see him. And they would never forget him.

Summary
"Because he and Hotch spend forever trying to fill in that blank. To summarize Dr. Reid into a single sentence, and Derek comes to the conclusion he’d rather not years later. And it’s not, Reid is a certifiable genius who can solve any problem, or Reid graduated at twelve and got three PhDs before he was twenty, or even Reid is my family. It's this: Reid is a traumatized kid who raised himself in desperate need of help he won’t ask for. That he would never ask for. He doesn’t know how." (gen, one-shot)
