During the summer after her first year at Nevermore, Wednesday finds herself in a predicament of unfamiliar torture. She has to come to terms with the fact, that communicating with her roommate by writing letters is not as effective as needed.
So she has to surrender to the horrible truth: she needs to buy an electronic mobile device.
But when texting and calling is not enough, she has to take it one step further - and invite Enid to visit her.

This is an execution. She realises, stomach dropping. Her Addams brain is screaming at her to ignore the command, to fight, to maim, to kill, or to at least try. But she can’t, not if…
For Enid.
The single thought quietens her rebelling instincts, and she lowers herself to the ground, knees hitting the mud in surrender.
And the hunters jeer.

Enid exhaled slowly.
“Okay,” she whispered. “Okay. I like Wednesday Addams. A lot. In a big, stupid, feelings way.”
Yoko squeezed her hand. “There you go.”
“And,” Divina added with a smile, “something tells me you’re not as one-sided as you think.”
Enid frowned. “You really think so?”
Yoko grinned. “I think Wednesday would have stabbed someone on sight if they’d tried to share a room with her—and yet you’re still alive. That’s practically a love declaration.”
Enid laughed weakly, but her heart held onto the idea like a lifeline.
